Luxury hotel and spa, The Metropole in Llandrindod Wells, will host charity cycle ride participants on St. David’s Day.
Staff from the Welsh social housing sector will ride from Colwyn Bay to Newport (a distance of 186 miles ) to raise money for a former housing association employee who has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.
The fund-raising will help pay for specialist treatments that are not available in Wales, as well as supporting her family.
16 cyclists have pledged to cycle the entire route (which will take three days to complete, while many more have volunteered to cycle sections of the journey.
“We are happy to be able to support the charity cyclists as they aim to raise money for such a worthwhile cause,†says Justin Baird-Murray, MD of The Metropole. “Their efforts will make a big difference to Nikki and her family.â€
Phillipa Knowles, of the Community Housing Cymru Group, and one of the cyclists, adds,
“The Cycle4Nik team is grateful for the fantastic support of the Metropole hotel. After two days (and 110 miles in the saddle), the thought of a warm, comfortable, soft bed with great food will be a real motivator, and something that we will all be looking forward to.â€
