  Equatorial Guinea for AU Summit

President Jacob Zuma has arrived in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, ahead of the 23rd Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Assembly.

The three-day summit, scheduled for 25 – 27 June, is expected to deliberate on the status of peace and security in Africa, the implementation of New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) projects and the African Peer Review Mechanism, among others.

It is also expected to table the African Common Position on the Post-2015 Development Agenda, as well as the report of the Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change.

Themed ‘2014 Year of Agriculture and Food Security in Africa: Marking the 10th Anniversary of Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme’, the summit will also consider the finalisation of the Agenda 2063 Continental Framework, as part of the vision of Africa in the next 50 years.

President Zuma is accompanied by the Ministers of International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana-Mashabane; Defence and Military Veterans Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula; Public Service and Administration Collins Chabane; State and Security David Mahlobo; Performance Monitoring and Evaluation Jeff Radebe; Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Senzeni Zokwana, and the Deputy Minister of Public Service and Administration, Ayanda Dlodlo. – SAnews.gov.za
