  Zuma to attend Africa, America summit

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma will lead a South African delegation to the Third Africa-South America (ASA) Summit to be hosted in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, on Friday.

The Presidency said the summit is convened by the African Union (AU) under the theme "Adopting Strategies and Mechanisms to reinforce South-South Cooperation”.

“The ASA Partnership aims to further solidify South-South cooperation by both regions in all spheres of political and socio-economic development,” read a statement.

It is organised around eight areas in which joint projects by Africa and South America are envisaged, namely: Agriculture, Agro-Industry and Environment; Educational and Cultural Issues. Other issues on the agenda include Institutional Strengthening, Governance and Public Administration; Peace and Security and Related Issues; social Issues, sports and related Matters, science, technology, investment and tourism as well as infrastructure, transportation and energy. – SAnews.gov.za
